Frailty is not based on the age of person, but on physical and functional ability. Hear about the current research and best practices for identifying and treating reversible causes of frailty. As people age, they can lose their resilience and ability to adapt in the face of multiple disease processes, decreased physical strength, and/or cognitive decline. NPs play an important role in identification of frailty so that appropriate interventions can be put in place to decrease the likelihood or slow the consequences through the use of simple screening tools, rapid geriatric assessments and evidence-based interventions.
