Event Details

Pregnancy induced cardiomyopathy or post-partum cardiomyopathy (PPC) is a rare occurrence; however, it has a high risk for adverse maternal outcomes. Gain a better understanding of the statics for PPC, diagnostic testing, and treatment plans for women in their child bearing years, which could have life-long implications. A case study of a woman diagnosed with PPC and treatment over the last 20 years will be presented. Post Partum Cardiomyopathy needs to be included in differential diagnosis of any pregnant female, who presents with complaints of shortness of breath, chest pain, or palpitations.
