Herpes continues to be a sexually transmitted infection that is easily missed or misdiagnosed by even seasoned practitioners. Learn the most up to date research, diagnostic tools, treatment regimens, and prevention messages to deliver the best evidenced-based care. Diagnostic tools for discovering herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1) and herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV2) will be discussed, along with how to accurately identify atypical physical presentations of HSV1 and HSV2.
