National studies and published reports indicate that the abuse of over-the-counter (OTC) drugs to get high is a growing concern—particularly among teens. Teens view abusing OTC and prescription drugs as safer than using street drugs. Understand how to identify some of the pharmacologic and toxicologic properties of some of the common drugs that can be purchased at your local gas station, along with steps in the management of the common toxicities seen with these medications.
