Event Details

Despite the large body of research discussing nutrition management and diabetes, there is still remaining confusion surrounding the impact of dairy in the diet and its impact on inflammation and disease management. Gain an awareness on the role of dairy foods in improving lifelong cardiovascular risk of insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia. A NIH funded study looking at metabolic pathways of increased cardiovascular risk in type 2 diabetes will be discussed, along with another trial looking at the effect of consumption of dairy products on body weight and cardiovascular risk factors in patients with type 2 diabetes. Explore the use of Medical Nutrition Therapy for diabetes management and prevention.

This session is supported by Dairy MAX.
