Ruth Kleinpell, PhD, RN, FAAN, FAANP, FCCM

The National Nurse Practitioner Symposium is pleased to announce Ruth Kleinpell, PhD, RN, FAAN, FAANP, FCCM as the Keynote Speaker for the 2019 symposium. Dr. Kleinpell serves as the Assistant Dean of Clinical Scholarship and the Independence Foundation Professor for Nursing Education at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She is also a Professor in the College of Nursing at Rush University and practices at the Urgent Care Lincoln Park Clinic which is part of Rush University Medical Center.

Dr. Kleinpell has written countless journal articles, book chapters and books, including Measuring Outcomes in Advanced Practice Nursing and Outcome Assessment in Advanced Practice Nursing, which is in its 4th edition.  She served as President for the Society of Critical Care Medicine in 2017, and was the third nurse to be elected in the 46 year history of the organization.  Dr. Kleinpell has also been elected twice to the role of President with the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses.

In this Keynote session, she will discuss career opportunities for NP practice and assist participants to evaluate options for next steps in their professional endeavors. The Keynote Presentation, “Advancing Your Nurse Practitioner Career: What Is Your Next Step?” will take place Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Keystone Conference Center.
